I did not get to see Moli today and I am not happy about it, I miss her. I was waiting for Ainura and Erken to pick me up, they were due in 5 minutes. I heard water running somewhere and I checked the bathroom and it was pouring out of the ceiling. Pouring through a hole where the pipe runs up the wall. I'm trying to call Ainura and she rings my bell, sees the water, gets Erken and he is trying to find someone to turn it off. A pipe burst in the ceiling over my bathroom. There was 2" of water in there. I was cursing the saddle between the bathroom when I got here because I kept stubbing my foot on it. Thank God for it now because all that water would have been all over the apartment. If I left 1 minute earlier it would have been a real flood. Me and Ainura tried scooping the water off the floor and into the tub and toilet to get rid of it. This went on for about 45 minutes. They shut off the water but it just kept coming.
The apartment owners were here, her parents, the neighbor next door, all came to see. Then it went through the ceiling in the kitchen and everything got wet there too but it was easier to control. Everyone kept asking me if I needed anything, did I want to move to a hotel or another apartment. It's nice and bright here and I like it so they said they were going to work on the pipe and I would have hot water tonight sometime. It just smells like wet plaster. I'm sure tomarrow it will be ok.
I was standing outside the front door on tile in my bare feet and Ainura said she is concerned about me standing in the hall because it was too cold (it's about 85 degrees today). The neighbor comes out and wants me to wear her slippers because it's not good to stand barefoot on the cold tile. It could make me sick. They believe you can get sick from the cold and it's especially not good for the female organs.
About 2 hours later we went to lunch at Buhara and I had lagman (noodles, veggies, meat and brown sauce, very good) manty (dumplings with meat and onions, also very good) and I tried lamb ribs and they were the best! The bread was very good too. Then we went to the mall to pick up some things. It wasn't too bad, things happen and I'm glad I can go with the flow and not be all bothered by this but I did miss seeing Moli.
Sometimes I still can't believe I am here, half way across the world!
I missed you today Moli and I can't wait to see your little face tomarrow. Grandpa got the pictures of you today that I sent and he said "I got the pictures you sent, is that my new Grandaughter?" He thinks you are so cute and can't wait to see you when we go home.

I'm happy the apartment owners were on top of things and that the neighbors were concerned about you. You am special!! ;-)
And yes, you are halfway across the world! You are woman, hear you roar.....
Love,
Laura
These things can only happen to you. Luckily, they don't seem to bother you (not like the small stuff). I would be completely freaked out over the river of water coming into the apartment. But from the sounds of it you were calm as can be. Practically having a party with Ainura, Erken, the owners and neighbors. It must have been a scene. And you taking picture during it reminds me of the (first) crib fiasco.
I'm sorry you did not get to see Moli today but it will make looking forward to tomorrow that much better.
I can't wait to read more about your adventures in Kaz. I'm so proud of you for taking this on by yourself and all of the challenges appear to be paying off. When I close my eyes I can see you glowing as you write everyday about Moli.
Love, Patty
