I've Got The Best Girl In The Whole World !

Yup, I DO! Today I saw even more of Little Miss Serenas personality. We are still getting to know each other. I do only spend 2 hours a day with her, that would all equal up to about 24 hours, 1 whole day, at this point. That is not alot of time. The best part of my day is walking into her playroom and seeing her come over to me with that smile on her face and her arms stretched up in the air for me to pick her up! What a feeling that is! Now I know what all you mothers feel like. There is nothing like it. Chocolate does not even begin to compare!! You all know how I feel about chocolate.
I posted this picture because here she reminds me of Jessica, my cousin Lisa's daughter. There have been other moments and photos where she reminds me of Jess and this is one of them. What do you think Lisa? Doesn't she look a little like Jessie did when she was a baby? Jess has grown up to be a beautiful girl, inside and out!
I got lots of smiles out of her today. We sang some silly songs today too. She really likes Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt but of course I substitute her name, Miss Serena Moldir Parisi (I drop the "a" from Moldira to make it fit in the song). It makes me happy to sing this to her because I used to sing this song to my very special nephew Alex. He is a little to old for these songs now so it's nice to pass it on to someone else, my Little Miss. I'm glad she likes it so much. I have tried to play peek a boo with her but she never seemed to get that it was a game. Today she got it and she kept putting the cloth back on her head. She is starting to put things in my mouth and take them out so it's a little game we play and it seems like every day there is more and more eye contact with her. I had a great day, as usual, with her.
This picture reminds me of Mom. I remember her always taking my hand and kissing the back of it. She did it when I was a child and also as an adult. I got some really good lovin from Mom and Dad was always the fun guy. He played with us all the time and he'd talk Mom into letting us do things she would say no to. They were a very good match together and I am forever grateful that they are my parents. You did a great job in making us feel loved, supported, and secure. I have two great role models to help me raise my daughter.

I am really loving my time here with her. It is just so special to be able to live in her birth country for 2 months before we come home. There are so many special memories from Kazakhstan and I have only been here two weeks. She is just the most special little person I have ever known and I have known quite a few, you know who you are. I want to say she is the best gift in the world but she even exceeds that description. There are just no words to describe her and how I feel about her. I was looking at all the pictures Ainura took today and I got tears in my eyes because I just can't believe what I have now. This little girl is everything to me. I have heard my friends describe it but until you have a child there is no way to comprehend what it feels like. Now I have an understanding of how Mom and Dad always felt about us and it's nice to know the depth of their emotions. I love you Mom and Dad!

This time here is so precious to me and I have to thank you Cathy and Holly for me being able to travel for this amount of time. I have two really great people that I trust to take care of the store and make sure everything runs smoothly. I know all the customers are being treated well and everyone is getting their picture frames done perfect and on time. Thank you so much for all of the effort you put into your job. I am really lucky to have the two of you! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! Now go read some magazines!

Something about Kaz today.....hmmmm........the women here are always dressed very nice. Sometimes casual but stylish, always very stylish and they love alot of makeup. They all wear high heels and very pointy shoes, much more than I see at home. All the women love sparkly, shiny, glittery things. Rhinestones are on all the shoes, belts, hand bags, and make up is very glittery. I saw a wedding party yesterday and the brides dress looked like it had glitter all over it and there was glitter in her hair and some of the other women with the wedding party had glitter in their hair too. They don't look silly or anything it actually looks very nice and sparkly. I happen to like sparkly things too but I'm very picky about what, but I would never wear sparkly, it's not me.

They have nice jewelry here too. Silver is very popular. There is a kind of silver that has designs in the silver and they oxidize it and parts of it are black. They call it black silver. Ainura said it is very Kazakh so I bought some for my sweetheart for when she is older.

Serena Moldira you are the best thing that has ever happened to me! You have all of my love with you always and forever! Kiss Kiss

Hi Dana - The three pictures today are just beautiful. The one of you and Serena is quite touching. You two could be the poster girls for adoption. It's perfect.

Keep playing those games with Serena. Oh, you are having such fun!

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

Love - Maria

I'm amazed that you travelled halfway around the world and found a sweet little girl who also happens to look like you. How cool is that?

Your entries are more and more mom-like every day. Congratulations on taking all those steps to make your dream come true. Martha would be *so* proud. And Ms. Serena couldn't know it yet, but she's the luckiest little girl in the world.

Love,

Everyday, you can see more of Serena's (sunny) personality shinig through with each passing photo. Today's photos were just adorable. The photo of you kissing Serena's hand was particularly sweet and poignant. (I have to say, it takes me back to the days when you were painting portraits and you cropped a portion of the face out. Did you do that here? Or did you just get lucky with this photo? Because, I LOVE IT. It is just an incredible photo.

Of course, you don't become the strong, loving, compassionate and independent woman you are without some good role models and your parents fit the bill to the "T". They always say you gain more appreciation for you parents when you have your own kids. I can't imagine how much you are missing your Mom. But I just know in my heart that she is looking down on you and beaming with pride at all your accomplishments and couldn't be happier watching you bond and play with Serena. In fact. I like to think that God has sprinkled a little of your mother's spirit in Serena and that is perhaps why so many of us are reminded of you when we look at her.

Serena, I can see you are becoming more playful and having lots of fun with Mommy. The two of you look like you are becoming very comfortable with each other. A perfect fit. I love seeing your beautiful smiling face in the many photos Mommy has included in her journal, that she is sharing with all of us back home. I can't wait to meet you.

I hope you enjoy your time there. It will go quickly and be over before you know it. Make every minute count.

All my love,
Patty

These photos are the best. Serena seems very comfortable in front of the camera. The photo taken of the two of you is very special and the love you feel for Serena speaks volumes in this one. Serena's unique personality shines through more amd more each day. I can only imagine how happy and secure she is feeling knowing you will be there everyday to see her. Finally she has found her Mommy!!! And you Dana have found your Daughter!!!

You are a natural at being a Mommy and the way you write of your experiences with Serena sound like you have always been a mommy.

Serena you have the best mommy.

Love,

Hi Dana

Great Pictures! I love the spoon one! I remember feeding Jessica for the first time and I have a picture of her reaching for the spoon with her mouth because I wasn't feeding her fast enough. That's one of my favorites. I do think Serena reminds me of Jessica in all today's pictures. The expression on her face and the way she stands is very much like Jessica.
I too think Serena resembles you. You two are a great match!

It is great to have your child reach for you to pick her up. So nice to have those little arms and legs wrap around you neck and waist. I am so happy for you!

Love
Lisa

Hi Serena

I am so happy that you are joining our family! It's been a while since we have had a bundle of joy around. By the expression on your face, and your mother's, I would say you are just that! Your mom has waited a long time for you. I think you will like being a part of our family. We are a fun bunch! We have great holidays, birthdays and family gatherings! We are so lucky to have you join us! We are a loving family, so you will never be alone and you will always be loved.

I can't wait to see you in person and give you a big hug!

Love you already
