Just Another Day in Kaz

Today is Sunday, the only day there are no visits at the babyhouse. Ainura came today and we walked to the National Museum. I was really happy we went, it was very interesting to see the history of Kazakhstan. There were all things old from hundreds of years ago that you would find in any museum but specific to Kaz like clothing, jewelry, tools, furniture, presidential gifts and medals. I wanted to take pictures but it's not allowed. The most interesting was a yurt. It's similar to a teepee but not as simple. They were nomads and would take down the yurt to travel to another area and set it up again. I bought some Kazakh things for the baby to know the country she was born in and one for myself which will go into a frame for my dining room.Eurken picked us up and we went to the Ramstore to have lunch.

People keep asking me what it's like here so I will try to comment on one or two things each post. First, they drive crazy here. CRAZY! It's like there are no rules, signs, lanes even. A cab ride in N.Y.C. is an easy ride. They all can't wait to get past or around each other, it's really nuts. Don't worry now, they are very experienced crazy drivers so it's ok.

Last night I met up with another adoptive mom and we walked along the river, went to the Fancy Mall for some pizza, and she showed me some other places to shop. The river walk was beautiful and they have paddle boats too. I had a really good time. I will share pictures on another day.

I miss Molka.

I can't wait to see your smiling face tomarrow sweetie!

I love the Kaz stuff you bought...can't wait to see it "Finicky Framed". And the apartment looks very nice too...bright and clean.

How wonderful that you got to spend time with someone else going through the adoption process. I'll bet you had a lot in common.

How far are you from the Caspian Sea? It's the largest lake in the world ya know ("I'll take "Bodies of Water' for $600 Alex) lol.

Can't wait to see new pictures of the bambina!

Love,
Laura

We dig your apartment. It's so shiney and clean. Looks like you're doing fine. Any maid service?... They don't expect you to clean while you're being a mommy do they?

The items you bought of Moli's heritage are beautiful. They will be wonderful treasures.

Bye for now,
Lori and Chris
