Today was a really great visit with my little Molka. I walked into her playroom and she got a big smile on her face and started shaking her arms and she looked so excited to see me for the first time. She is always happy when I see her but today is the first day I think she was happy to see ME. What a feeling that was for me! To see her little arms flailing about was just too cute for words.
She was more interactive with me today and there was alot more eye contact than yesterday too. I think she's getting it. I also noticed that today she would look at me for a reaction to things she would do and that really makes me feel special. This little person is looking to me for what she needs and I feel like I am really getting to know who she is. All these things are making me feel more connected to her.
The thing that really made me feel like a mommy was changing her diaper today. I have never had to do that yet and today was the first day. It put me over the top on feeling like a mommy. That and the other things that happened today changed things. I am a full fledged mommy now all because of a pee pee diaper. Who would have thought? I just felt more comfortable today too, probably because she is feeling more comfortable. Picking her up from her room was more comfortable, changing her clothes, playing with her in general was more comfortable. It was a great day!
Todays visit went really fast. I started to pack up all the toys again and again she had to be in the back pack taking everything out. You should see her, it's like she is on a mission. She is so intent on being inside that bag it's like it's her job or something. She is too funny. I think she is getting the idea that they are her toys and she has some say over them. I'm going to try to get it on video tomarrow. I'm sure tomarrow she won't be the least interested in it. While she was in the bag she found my nice new crisp bills and she was all over those bills. She couldn't get enough of them.
I'm staying in for the night to figure out my video camera. I might post some more pictures of Kaz later tonight.
The weather here this week is very cold. It's 50-60 degrees with alot of wind! It's normally around 90 degrees this time of year. I have not seen one house since being here. This is a metropolitan area, it is the capital of Kazakhstan and they have been building up for about 10 years now. there is construction going on all over. The capital was in Almaty but the president decided to move it to Astana because it is in the center of Kazakhstan and he feels the capital should be in the center.
Dearest Molka you have given me the most special day of all. I have waited to be a mommy as long as I can remember and you have made this dream of mine come true. I am so lucky to be your mommy.

Reading this love story everyday is like watching a beautiful flower unfold its petals. It's just meant to be!
Lil' Molka's pucker shot is too cute. And I'll bet she was happy to see you (I always am too). Glad she liked the "bills"...a girl after my own heart :-)
And I think it's great that you're exploring Kazahkstan and commenting on it. Makes it more vivid for us statesiders.
Can't wait to squeeze that lil' hiney (Molka's I mean...lol),

Oh, I am so happy for you. There is no better feeling then when a child is excited to see you (I don't care what age they are. I do not have kids but it feels great when I see my young nieces get excited to see me and I still get a warm, fuzzy feeling when my seventeen year old nephew seeks me out at get togethers to give me a hug and a kiss). She looks so sweet, Dana. The pictures are adorable. I just love her already. You are doing a great job of telling your story and allowing your family and friends to travel with you on this private journey. Your love for Moli is shining through and I am sure there is so much more that you cannot even put into words.
I can't even imagine how excited you must have been when she took those first tentative steps. It was wonderful reading about it and bought a tear to my eye.
Of course, you realize after the first diaper, the excitement is gone from that chore. Unless the baby is constipated and than it is whole new excitement when you get a dirty diaper. And there is always potty training to look forward to. Leave it to me to have to always bring up and elaborate on the potty issues.
Can't wait to read what happens tomorrow. Looking forward to learning more about Moli. Your both in my prayers.
Love, Patty

Seeing and getting to know Molka is wonderful and we can't wait to meet her. We have many terrific things to tell her about her wonderful Mommy. We'll hold off on the juicy stuff until she's older!
You make Kaz sound like a nice place to visit. Borat didn't do it justice. Looking forward to more of your adventures. You and Molka are in our thoughts everyday. We love you.
